THG®'S BAGATELLE: A bathroom suite to be played with THG ’s newest bathroom collection, the Bagatelle, is a playful take on luxury bathroom fixtures and accessories designed by highly respected French designer Olivier Gagnère, whose eclectic Parisian apartment was recently featured on the cover of Elle Décor’s April 2010 issue. In designing the Bagatelle Collection, Gagnère was inspired by a table game that originated from a royal party thrown in 1777; this royal game has since evolved into what is now the pinball machine.
			The Bagatelle Collection’s humorous, imaginative design invites users to touch and play with the faucet handles, knobs, buttons and shapes that have been cleverly fashioned from signature elements of a pinball machine. Slender lever handles are reminiscent of a pinball machine’s flippers and the round shapes found throughout the Bagatelle Collection echo the round bumpers and ivory balls of the table game. The faucetry’s glossy gold finish adds a sense of opulence to the collection. The collection consists of faucets, matching shower systems that can be configured in a multitude of ways (including theromastic valves, multi-port diverters and volume controls), porcelain accessories and an indulgent, generously proportioned roman bathtub set. The collection is available with metal, fine crystal or black obsidian inlays. The obsidian stone, which is made from jet-black volcanic ash, is both masculine yet feminine when paired with the gold finish; epitomizing THG’s design brilliance. With the Bagatelle Collection, Gagnère has adapted the design of a traditional royal game into a modern, eclectic take on luxury bathrooms. By injecting playfulness into THG’s tradition of high luxury and hand craftsmanship, Gagnère has created a witty and highly original bathroom collection that is perfect for entertainment rooms of royal palaces, luxury yachts and the finest homes, hotels and resorts.
