DRS & Associates is an active member of 1% For The Planet: http://www.onepercentfortheplanet.org, a coalition of environmentally-conscious businesses that believe in corporate responsibility by donating one percent of their sales to environmental organizations worldwide. Why one percent of revenues? The target is high because the power of the 1% program rests on its ability to convey a high level of commitment. While offering a percent of profits is noble, it’s not as powerful as pledging a percent of sales.

As an independent third party, 1% For The Planet confirms that member businesses meet their donation commitments and they also verify that the groups receiving funds have clear, worthwhile goals directly related to the environment. These measures deepen our commitment to supporting the conservation of our earth. It goes without saying that being green or taking responsibility for protecting the environment is a big issue in our industry, often talked about, but with little substantiation or follow through.

Although we do not physically manufacture products, we certainly consume many products that potentially deplete (directly or indirectly) our earth’s natural resources. It is our desire to make a difference in the way we operate our business and conduct our lives. Our commitment to keep the earth in business starts with our daily activities, but we feel the need to go further.

By contributing to 1% For The Planet, we know that the organizations that proactively work full time to either rebuild and save endangered forests, address global warming, protect our wildlife, and even educate businesses and consumers about environmental causes and effects, will make a difference for all of us.
