Senior Account Manager, East Coast Division
Bringing 18 years of experience in the home design industry to bear, she is excited to be working with an agency and people she respects and whose work she had known in her previous position as Editor in Chief of HomePortfolio. Championing innovative product design is in her blood. Maintaining one of the largest product websites in the industry while keeping her finger on the pulse of the design industry during her years at HomePortfolio has given her a unique set of skills including the ability to quickly recognize and promote trends in product design. Using those skills, plus her editorial and industry knowledge, she will be working closely with the DRS team to find new and creative ways to promote DRS' clients.
Beginning her career as an interior designer, she ran her own small commercial and residential design firm for 9 years before joining HomePortfolio in 2002. Sourcing and specifying products were such an integral part of her work that joining the largest online website of home design products seemed a natural fit. Attending trade shows, reporting on trends, spotlighting unique products, artisans and design professionals were the major components of her job. Being aware of trends in web technology and how to use that technology to help grow the website was another important part of the position.
Staying involved as much as possible in the design industry, Jocelyn is a consultant to the Boston Society of Architects, the largest chapter of the AIA (American Association of Architects). She helps produce their highly successful industry trade shows, Build Boston, and Residential Design & Construction. She works with their Director of Education to develop workshops and seminars specifically for interior designers, and in 2009, she conceived and produced a special Artisan Pavilion for the Residential show, which showcases work from a number of small and talented artists, artisans, and trades-people. It is her love of fine craftsmanship and ability to find the needle in the haystack that fuels her passion for all segments of the design industry. For two years, she held the position of Director of Communications and PR on the board of the Boston Chapter of IFDA (International Furnishings and Design Association). Jocelyn is a frequent speaker in the Boston area on subjects ranging from Trends in Bathroom Design, to Website and Marketing Savvy. In her increasingly rare spare time, when not driving her two children to and from Fencing tournaments, she is the editorial advisor for a Boston-based start-up home design website and she advises young interior designers on how to best leverage their strengths when starting out in the industry.
